Tolar High School Counselor
"Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken." - Oscar Wilde
Welcome to the Counselor Page! My name is Jena Pickett and this is my 10th year as a school counselor and 15th year in education. I graduated from Summit High School in Mansfield, TX, then went to SMU (Dallas, TX) to play collegiate soccer and received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology along with my teacher certification. I received my Masters in School Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University, where I was able to study abroad in London to learn and certify in Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy. I am happily married to my amazing husband, Michael, and he is an Assistant Principal in Granbury ISD. My miracle baby boy, Linden Cole was born October 19, 2021 and we are just smitten over him. I have two great step-sons, Griffin (attends Texas State University) and Cooper (plays collegiate football at Southwestern University) and we have 1 spoiled dog, Sammie. I am beyond excited to continue my career in Tolar ISD! I am drawn to this wonderful community and the pride and spirit everyone has for our school and students! My passion as a counselor is College and Career Readiness, I truly believe every student has strengths to become successful in whatever they do and I want to help them find it.
